Product Explained
Mobile Personal gifts (MPG©) technology is a revolutionary gift voucher system, which allows consumers to purchase redeemable vouchers online through www.gift2mobile.com or directly through our retail partners web site. The MPG vouchers are sent as an embedded bar code with unique pin via SMS directly to a recipient’s mobile phone or hand held device.
The electronic voucher is sent from our ecommerce site www.gifts2mobile.com or through our retail partner web site using our white label API interface. The user experience has been designed to provide an enjoyable easy to use customer friendly process for the sender and recipient. We believe that www.gifts2mobile.com –MPG© technology will revolutionise the way gifts vouchers are sent and received.
Don't want to spam anyone - how does this work
Our services are fully compliant with all legislation. In fact we go further than the requirements keeping track of all messages sent to a subscriber and allowing them to opt-in and opt-out of campaigns at any point either using their mobile or by visiting our web site.
How Do Mobile Personal gift (MPG) vouchers work
MPG Vouchers involves us sending an encrypted bar-coded message to a customer's mobile phone. This barcode can either uniquely identify the MPG voucher or can be a generic code and pin number that can be recognised by a point of sale system. The MPG can be scanned at a retailers existing EPOS system to redeem your item. Unique barcodes are limited to the amount purchased and each time a barcode is scanned or pin number used it is checked against our real-time databases through the retailer existing EPOS.
We can send 3 types of Mobile MPG vouchers: SMS, WAP and MMS.
- SMS coupons can be sent to all mobile phones - if the handset cannot display the barcode (Blackberry devices do not support this) then a PIN is always displayed.
- WAP coupons can be sent to all mobile phones supporting WAP. Easy Coupon provides a selection of linear and 2D symbologies to select. WAP coupons can include animated images.
- MMS coupons can be sent to all mobile phones supporting multimedia messaging. Easy MMS provides a selection of linear and 2D symbologies to select. MMS coupons can include multiple slides with animated images and music.
Can I use my existing scanning equipment
MPG has been designed to accommodate our clients existing hardware. A number of scanner manufacturers now have products that read all the barcode types we send. Generally though a laser scanner does not work reliably, but will the addition of the unique pin number and barcode this has overcome any scanning issue. With a CCD scanner this enables a much higher percentage of readings having a better performance reading our linear codes and an imaging scanner works on all barcode types.
If you have any queries regarding scanners or scanners? Please give us a call and we will be happy to help.
Can I integrate your services into my application
Yes? We have a number of interfaces available. These generally use HTTP or XML SOAP. We also have written custom interfaces for a number of clients or provided software development kits.
Interfaces and SDKs available are:
- Machine To Machine communication Interfaces
- Messaging Interfaces
- Easy Suite Applications SDK
- Scanning ActiveX controls and OPOS drivers
Will my IT department let me run your applications
Yes? We have our applications installed in many companies with a secure desktop policy.
All our applications utilise Application Virtualisation technology. This enables the applications to run in a "sandbox" which protects the local operating system allowing them to be run safely from restricted user accounts without local installation.
What barcode types do you use and why
We use:
- Data Matrix - this code is a 2 dimensional code that allows us to transmit a unique code in a very small size. This code is suitable for SMS, WAP and MMS message types. We use this code for all our Mobile Ticketing.
- Code 39 - this is a linear code that allows us to transmit a unique code to WAP and MMS phones.
- Code 128 - this is a linear code that allows us to transmit a unique code to WAP and MMS phones.
- EAN 13 - this is a linear code used in retail. We can transmit generic coupon codes that can be read directly by a POS system (appropriate scanner required).
- EAN 8 - this is a linear code used in retail. We can display this code so it can be aggressively read by low end scanners.
